Our trustees, volunteers and staff like to visit other museums to pick up practical tips and creative ways of exhibiting and telling stories. One of our trustees recently visited a small museum in southern France that shared many similarities with the Museum of Dartmoor Life. Much like our museum, the Museum of Old Mazères is based in a three-storey house in the centre of a small medieval town. Interesting techniques included the use of 3D scanner type exhibits to show the detail on corroded metal objects.
