Car

Accessible via the M5, A386, and A30 , follow signs for Okehampton and look for the brown tourist signs towards the town centre .

Train (Dartmmor Line)

Okehampton Station (15 minute walk to the museum)

The journey time is approximately 40 minutes between Okehampton and Exeter

  • There are now hourly trains each way, seven days a week, between Okehampton, Crediton and Exeter St Davids, including services for daily commuters
  • Most services also call at Exeter Central, including the key peak services.

Bicycle

For cyclists there are bicycle racks outside the museum. Centrally placed the museum is close to the famous Granite Way, an 11 mile car free route. Cycle hire is available from Granite Way Cycles at the Train Station

Additional Information

Wheelchair Access and Lift

The museum building and lift is wheelchair-accessible. If your wheelchair or mobility device is 75 cm or wider, access to certain areas of the Grade II listed building may be limited. Please contact us if you have a larger device and we can help you plan your visit.

The nearest toilets are in the Cafe in Museum Courtyard

Bike Racks

Several bike racks are located outside the museum.

Dogs

Assistance dogs are welcomed at the museum. We ask visitors to remain responsible for their dogs at all times during their visit. Please ask at reception if you require a drinking bowl.
